Where to find real vacancies

Check your metro municipality's official website (your city's official website). Openings typically include traffic and metro police officer trainee intakes, advertised by each metro. Social media posts and WhatsApp messages are not official unless they link back to the official site.

Prepare before the advert opens

  • An up-to-date CV with month and year dates
  • Certified copies of ID and qualifications (only if requested)
  • A short cover or motivation letter you can adapt
  • Any professional registration your field needs
  • A tracker with closing dates and reference numbers

Tailor your CV

Copy the key requirements from the advert and make sure each one is clearly visible on your CV with an example. Screeners compare your CV to the advert line by line.

Scam warning

Real employers and government departments never ask you to pay for a job, an interview, training or a 'registration fee' to be shortlisted. If someone asks for money or your banking PIN, walk away and report it.
