Nursing training is offered through provincial health departments, nursing colleges and private hospital groups. Requirements are stricter than most learnerships, so prepare carefully.

Provincial Department of Health websites and official nursing colleges, and the careers pages of large private hospital groups. Intakes are usually announced months before training starts.
Typical requirements
- Matric with specific subjects (often English, Life Sciences and Maths or Maths Literacy)
- South African ID
- Sometimes a medical check
- CV and supporting documents as the advert lists
