DPSA vacancies: how to find them and apply.
Government vacancies across national and provincial departments are published in the DPSA's Public Service Vacancy Circular. Here's a practical weekly routine.
- Weekly routine to check the circular
- How to shortlist posts you qualify for
- Z83 + CV checklist
- Public-service CV in the toolkit

Weekly routine
- Download the latest circular from dpsa.gov.za.
- Search the PDF (Ctrl+F) for your qualification or job title.
- Note posts where you meet the minimum requirements.
- Record each post, reference number and closing date in a tracker.
- Prepare a separate Z83 and tailored CV per post.
Provincial vacancies
Provinces and municipalities also advertise on their own websites. Check your provincial government site and municipality's careers page too.
Scam warning
Real employers and government departments never ask you to pay for a job, an interview, training or a 'registration fee' to be shortlisted. If someone asks for money or your banking PIN, walk away and report it.
